Animation - roll-on capping machine
The illustration below shows the general layout of a typical machine represented in the animation. For clarity machine guards are not shown.
Rotary machines for applying other caps such as press-on and pre-formed screw types are broadly similar but with different methods of placing the cap on the container and actions of the capping head. A capping turret is often mounted on the same base as a rotary filling machine with containers transferred between the filling and capping turrets by starwheel.
